A common misconception is the level of care required by these popular flowering plants: they actually thrive best on a little healthy neglect. Oncidium orchids require a little more water than moth orchids – needing the soil to be kept evenly moist, whilst allowing the top third of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering over the winter whilst it is in it’s dormancy period. Feed when showing active new leaf or bud growth. Avoid draughty spots.
